Today, I'm so excited to celebrate the launch of the new branding + blog design for prêt-à-provost! prêt-à-provost is a style + travel blog run by Allie, a 20-something who lives in NYC working for Kate Spade and traveling all over the place (she just got back from London!) I was so overjoyed when she reached out wanting to do a complete blog + brand redesign.
From the beginning, we knew the exact direction we wanted to go with everything. Allie wanted to upgrade her aesthetic so that it was a bit more luxurious and sophisticated feeling, while still keeping it fun and youthful. I pulled in lots of pink, white and black as the base for her color. And added in a pop of deep cherry red (my favorite part!) to give it that "grown-up" feel. Combined with a mix of organic prints and hand lettering, we knew this would speak directly to her young, modern target audience.
Once we got into the branding design process, I hand lettered a few different font options (you can see one that got cut on my Instagram here). We decided to go with this clean, rounded option and added custom icons to the lettering to represent the traveling content on her blog (and the inspiration behind the name prêt-à-provost!). From there, I built a system of variations, submarks, and collateral to pull everything together.
Last, but certainly not least, we redesigned her blog. I love designing on Squarespace, which is what we used, because it's not only easy to work with on the back end but it's super user friendly. I updated her home page to be a combination of her latest blog posts, as well as social media, shopping sections, and more. We wanted a really dynamic layout to really highlight the content but also foster a relationship with her readers so that they don't just follow her blog, but follow her across every platform.
